GSPs - couple of qs

Hey all I know for a GSP you need 30g but what are peoples thoughts on putting two in a 50g heavily decorated?

They will be freshwater when get them and plan to raise the entire tank's salinity over the months till at the correct SG and not to crash the filter.

How are peoples experiences with Silk plants in water? Hope to have java fern, anubias, java moss and amazon swords with a mix of silk plants, rock and coral sand substrate. Will be getting a Fluval 205 and hoping to mostly clone from my other 3 tanks, maybe having a mini cycle with ammonia feeding. Setting up tank end of August so not far now

Any further tips welcome, have read pufferpedia on GSPs, feeding, etc.

I think yours will be fine Amy, they take a while to grow, so they will have lots of time before you will need to think about a bigger tank.
I've not used silk plants, but I do use plastic ones in my brackish GSP tank and so far, so good. I have put a big piece of bogwood in there with moss on it, as I've read moss can live in brackish water.
My Ceylons like to bite off pieces of plastic, so I have to watch them, but I've never seen my GSP's biting the plants. I think my biggest Ceylon has to "taste" everything. He bites the filter, the airline, the thermometer, anything he can!
I think your two GSP's will be very happy and I'm sure you will be an excellent puffa-mommie

LOL thanks so much guys! Sigh I really do love the layout of that tank Puffertank, seen it before and read it was fake which is eyepopping really considering how beautiful it is.

Thanks schismy007 - I hope I will be a good puffer mom to these too. LOL your Ceylon sounds a right character, he is such a kid. I think I will go for two and spend the time whilst they are growing up to look for a new tank. Thank you! Pretty much have names for them already though I am sure it will change when love at first sight happens

A weird question has anyone ever kept porcs and GSPs together?

I believe Chin has kept them together. I wonder where she went to???

that tank really was a PITA to keep up. I had to do weekly 50% WC, moving all that decor around to clean under it. I also had to bleach it monthly, to keep it looking good.

Wow I can only imagine the hard work! But it really does look gorgeous though, alot of effort as it looks so natural!
