Hi!
I just got my first GSP 2 days ago and today I fed him a piece of king prawn. He tucked in quite happily, but now he's sitting in front of it and seems unable to propell himself upwards. All his fins are moving and he doesnt appear to be panting or anything - its like he ate too much and now can't get up again!
What can I do?

Re: Stuck on the bottom
My GSP sits/snoozes most days after eating! His fins still move & it seems to be normal behaviour for him.

He's just saying: "I can't believe I ate the whoooooole thing...!" Give him some Alka Seltzer (not really). They should be fed to a slightly rounded body. Great thread on overfeeding your puffer, stickied in Gen Disc.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Puffers are like cats; pretty inactive for about 15 hrs a day, then they zoom everywhere for the remaining time. Mine has taken to curling up inside a rock with his fins tucked in and tail not moving for hours at a time. He just has his little head poking out with the current flowing past him. Then, if I come and stand in front of the tank he zips right there and starts playing around. Strange creatures!
