Suvattii's are not to common in the US it seems. If you can find one its a must buy due to them being really rare.

Yeah, my LFS cant get a suvatti in, so i tried to get miurus, wich they can get in, but the only ones available were full grown 6" and 70$.... maybe ill just wait until they can order a juvenile miurus. the only odd thing was, on my LFS's list of freshwater puffers available to order, it listed both miurus and congo? im going to call them today about that. hopefully the "other congo" is either a suvatti or a juvenile miurus.( possibly the variant miurus?)

Take a look at this pic. It was taken as the male I believe moved onto the second female.Notice the extremely pale colouration of a normally dark puffer.Even the arrow which is normally darker than the rest of the body is infact lighter!

I don't know for sure. I don't think they 'pair' for life.Maybe the male is sexually active and the females not.There were a few fights after this which has left the females with a couple of bites each.All three have now returned to their usual place with the male being more quiter than usual.

They have beautiful coloration! Never would have expected a normally drab coloured puff to turn out so pretty during (possible) mating.

I find it incredible that it's not just a change in chroma (intensity) but an actually reversal of colour entirely..very neat.

I just saw a local LFS with a tank full of suvattis. They were going for US$3 a piece locally. They were about 2-3 inches. How much do Suvattis fetch over in the US?

Last time I checked to see how much I could import them for, it was like $70...

Your lucky creampuff, I remember how overseas it is easy to get oddball fish and or critters...
