Hi All. I'm new to this board, and a new puffer proud puffer owner.
I have a 3"-4" MBU.... Just wondering, would he be fast enough to catch and eat small 2" fishes? I have some roseline sharks that I would like to try as tankmates... but don't really want to lose any fish for educational purposes...
I've had him for about a month now, and he's been eating chopped market shrimp and pond snails (quarantined).
Thank you!

Mbu's do great with tankmates. I'm not sure if he will eat them or not because they are so small. I wouldn't try anything your not willing to loose. There is also a great feeding article in the library under the learn tab. They need a varied diet. He sure is a cute little fellow.
Mbu's are all different. Some are very peacefull while others are more aggressive.Ziggy is very peaceful and has never harmed another fish but my smaller mbu will somtimes attack bottom fish if he goes to long between meals.I would say in most cases roseline sharks will get along fine.Mine do!!
My Puffers: Puffers I have kept: T lineatus T miurus A modestus T biocellatus C valentini C coranata C papuan C lorteti DPs suvattii burrfish T niphobles
Although quite a pricey meal, Roseline sharks are fast-moving & probably won't get eaten. Be sure the tank is large enough for them to get away from the puffer & that there is plenty of decor in there.
We have excellent articles here on mbus, stickied in this forum & in our Library.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
