should i do 2 males and 2 females?

A specific ammount of any gender of these puffs arnt specific as are the pairing of red-eyes. So you can just go for about 5 of any gender (mixed, all male, all female, it doesn't matter aslong as your not breeding them.)

I had SAPs & DPs together. The SAPs had bite marks from the DPs.

I've found that generally 1 male for every 2 or 3 females levels out aggression..

Yup, agree with that.

Sreangely, my all-male group does not show any aggression. Similar situation to mbuna Cichlids?

I think perhaps the aggression has to do with sexual reproduction, which is eliminated with all males..generally its a poor lone female being harassed by numerous males.

I would more likely go with the 1:3 ratio myself.

I would go with 1:3 to start, if not just stay at 1:3.

i will probably just do 1 male and 4 females or just all of one sex.
