what puffers work togather

I currently have a Gsp and a f8 but I have just been educated to the fact that they require different salt levels and shouldent live togather so I was wondering if I could get another puffer who will live happily with one of my current two. I'm fine changing to full salt to accomodate the gsp and I'm fine staying brackish for the f8. I just want to have two different puffers. Also, a smaller tank would be easier since I'm a college student moving back and forth.

Hmm I'm not sure of two different species that do well together. Someone else might know of some though. If you had a big enough tank say 25-30 gallon you could keep two figure eights together depending on their personalities. However, as a general rule I believe the larger the tank the more luck you are going to have with housing two fig 8s in the same tank. A GSP by itself needs at least a 30 gallon and I'm not sure how many additional gallons you'd need for a second one. I'm sure someone else with more experience will come along in just a bit and can offer more specific advice. You could always do dwarf puffers. They do best with one male and a harem of females say a 1 to three or four ratio and would do best in a twenty gallon. Hope that helps a bit.

Yes, multible F8s usually work well & you could keep a Ceylon with your GSP. F8s: 15g for 1st one & 10g for each extra. GsPs: 30g & Ceylons 40g.

That would be tough to do and still keep the tank size small.

For the figure 8, that's really one of the few species that likes that salinity level.

For the GSP, you could do a ceylon or maybe a toby of some sort, but then you're looking at probably a 55+ gallon tank.
