Watermelon?

Um I was thinking since my puffer would eat anything and since I had some water melon,
it's mostly water and he likes macro I'd try a tiny piece.
So I tried a tiny piece(pea sized) and he went nut over it.
It's not like I'm going to feed it to him again,but is there any thoughts on that ?

I don't see anything wrong with it. It is mostly just water, some sugar and a tiny bit of fiber, vitamine A and C.

I feed my puffers frozen corn once in a while and they love it too.

I don't know, maybe I'm too cautious, but I think you're playing with fire doing stuff like that. I'm all for variety in diet, but you're probably better off sticking with what they'd actually have access to in the wild.

I think if they'll eat fruits, its okay to feed them as a treat. Don't forget, fruit will fall off trees and into the water/river in nature. I doubt watermelons in particular come tumbling down but you get my drift hehe.

So, this is a bit late, but fibrous veggies are actually good for puffers. Peas, for one, help to keep everything... moving smoothly. Some owners recommend that they get peas once a week, if they'll eat them.
