Chelonodon patoca

Anyone keeping Chelonodon patoca ?
Need a share here....

Currently i am keeping him in freshwater with much salt......putting him with tetraodon palembangensis....same size bout 8-9 cm

ph. 7.5 - 8.2
hard to very hard water
tank mates arent very suitable but people have kept them with scats monos and theyre own

i was told its a euryhaline fish
and can adapt to almost all water conditions quite easily
but your filter cant

oh and temp should middle at 25 degrees celcius

[HELP] Eating Problem

tho he's very active and looks healthy, he won't eat since the time i owned him which is for a week....

i have tried died foods (frozen blood worm, shrimp, fishes) live insects, live fishes.... :(

as previously mentioned, i put him with tetraodon palembangensis which doesn't have eating problem....

i love him so much, i can't afford losing him.....

help...

If you can't afford losing him, I wouldn't keep him with a lurker. Also, the palembangensis won't appreciate the salt.

Do a forum search on the scientific name, there will be plenty of info in past posts.

try feeding him snails, when i first got mine the only thing he would eat was trumpet snails crushed but now lives on a vaired diet of bloodworms, squid, mussel, crayfish, ghost shrimp and any type of snail the pet shop can throw at me

Been looking around for my info for you and found this
Comes from africa, madagascar, india, sri lanka, south east asia; so does seem to be a widespread species so some diversity in markings and patterns will be apparent, and they can reach 30cm/12".

theyre also a burrower so a sand substrate is good, even tho ive never seen mine do it

hows he going? has he eaten yet?

hasn't eat yet.... :(
i am giving him fish vitamin for appetite...

I know of someone keeping patocas, and he experienced that they didn't do well in FW, but needed BW.
