Im sorry - I am a new mommy and well I am hyperacting with them! LOL
They seemed mostly fine except for the male that has paced since I got him. I started to introduce them to light sequence yesterday, this morning when I turned the light they zipped about then 3 started pacing the tank at one end (furthest from the filter). Fed them a little, all fed but they keep going back to pacing in two of four corners (opp filter and behind filter) the only one that is completely unconcerned is Piggy who blimps about. Am I being overly concerned? Here is a piccy of their tank.
Puffers usually pace because they can either see their own reflection in the glass or because they're bored with their environment (or both). The light has probably contributed to the first of those. You could try adding more decor - that might help; alternatively just let them get used to the light/their own reflection and it may dissipate.

Thanks again coldmachineUK. Do you think the tank looks a little bare still? I was thinking of getting more of the floaty fern (darker green ones to add). They come out and swim abit then go back to pacing. Guess I will just have to look over them and keep an eye on their behaviour (good thing I don't have real kids yet!) HAHAH!
Oh, I've been there with the standing-in-front-of-tank-in-panic-and-despair thing before; it's worse than having children because at least there are obvious things to do with kids (feed, change, sleep) but with puffers they can't bawl at us or tell us what they want!
The tank does look like it has plenty of decor. I personally think the new light routine has made them notice their own reflections suddenly (or more easily) and so they'll probably settle down. Floating plants work wonders with puffers. It's like...catnip or something.

yeah tried to get some yesterday but nothing about, those fernie fake things float, so may try those out today!! glad it is not just me that has had the despair and panic thing!
