? about Suvatti

For those of you who have Suvatti or experience with Suvatti can you tell me how active or inactive they are? Are they like Congos and bury themselves and you won't see them until dinner time?

Mine is very inactive. He either stays burried or in a cave until the lights go out or it's dinner time. He has come out to investigate my hand and to see how it tastes once.... Every once in a while he does com out during the day to check out his territory but I'd say he pretty much wants to be left alone otherwise.

They are very inactive fish when ive worked with our group of youngsters at work they spent most of the day buried and even at feeding time were very reserved. Mum and dad again were very inactive but rather than burying they prefered to spend their time in a tube.

I have 3 and while they are mostly inactive, either burying themselves or hiding in their tubes ... they do actually have their active times. I have to admit that they are more active than I thought they would be. Now my Baileyi, he's VERY inactive!

Some times at night my suvattii get wild and you can hear the water splash. I don't know if they are getting after one another or not. I think some breeding activity was going on at one point. I do enjoy feeding them, even though they are very particular and the food has to be given to them in a special way.

Mine is very inactive too. He mostly hides behind his root, and sometimes digs into the sand. The only time he moves, is when he sees me bend down to his tank. Then he thinks it's feeding time, and comes to the front glass in a hurry. If he sees that I don't have any food for him, he gets really grumpy, and goes back to not moving - and now not moving even with me outside the glass.

Mines rather active... he swims about the tank all day, sometimes retrets to his hole in the ground.. lol

Thanks, he keeps puffing up at me.. i was thinking of setting up a second tank for a mirrus (congo) id like a red one like pufferpunks one, very nice!

Hey Paul! He's beautiful! One suggestion, if I may, is to get him a few places to hide, like caves or tree roots. That gives him a more secure feeling, a more natural environment, and he may stop puffing at you. They make clear plastic tubes you can use for caves to keep him visible or you can prop a flat piece of rock against the front of the glass to create a cave and you will still be able to watch him.

my two never move. and i mean never. they have stayed in the same places in the tank constantly for about 4 months the only time they move is for food then back in there spots

My Pippen is fairly active. 70% of the time he's laying on the sand, but other times he's swimming around, usually puffing up when he hits the outflow of one of the filters.

My arrowhead has taken residence in a cave that I put in that is about 6 inches off the ground. The only time I see him really move is when I walk in the room to check if I have food and when I actually drop food in his tank (he's a night crawler addict). Even then I only see half of him, nose to about mid body. Occasionally I see him in the morning when I turn the lights on in the tank. Oh, and one other time, he was floating around the tank puffed....there was a menacing ghost shrimp trying to invade his cave...
