my mbu

Post by madugo »

i have always wanted a mbu for a long time...
it is about 6 in now...and it is still in a 40 breeder until my 210 is ready for him to grow just for now...i will have a bigger tank later on when i moved..
anyway..here is a pic when it first got here less than a month ago..
very skinny...and not too active...
Image
i had been putting a lot of times into to try to back him up...feeding, and de-worming...etc..
i think he is a little better now...and look a lot happier, he will always swimming around and move around me when i passing by to beg for food..
but i know a 40b is too small for him.. cant want the 210 is done and move him in..it is still cycling...the sand in them make the tank kinda messy...i guess i did not wash the sands well enough...
so here is some picture of him before today's feed.

and where the feeding begain.. i always hand feed him, so i guess he knows everytime now..
always draging food from my hand...

and here are some pics of him eating

and a big smile for me when he is done~

Poor baby! He's so thin! But the deworming you mentioned should do the trick, and he's obviously eating well.

You do know that the 210 won't last him for long, right? Just in case you didn't know, mbus get to be about three feet long and require at least 1,000 gallons. If you did, sorry to give you old news. :)

I love the picture where he looks like he's smiling!

Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Great pictures. They are a little big, you may want to downsize them. I have a pretty fast (laptop) computer and it still took a while to load the page. If I were on my desktop computer it would have taken me about 10 minutes to get the page loaded. :D Try not to post pictures that are too large for those who have very slow computers.

Your puffer looks so sweet and I agree that he may need to be dewormed. Can't wait to see pictures of his new tank. :D

No need to do a second deworming, unless you feed live, unquarantined food, or fresh food that you haven't kept in the freezer for a week, or othewise give parasites an opportunity to get into the tank. Unnecessary deworming isn't good for the little guy.

Please do resize the pics or I will have to remove them--they don't even fit on my page! ;) I can tell from what I can see, he's a real looker. :)

Great little fella, i have just aquired a Mbu too and it is about 3.5 inches long total. It is feeding great and doing really well. I have it in a nice size smaller tank until it is bigger and large enough to go in to my biggest tank with my other fish.
