..but how do you get rid of a snail infestation in a puffer tank? Bought plants that had the usual hitch hikers and my arrowhead ignores them. I let it go figuring that he would eat them as they got bigger, he wants nothing to do with them.

They edible or dangerous for the puffer? He may suddenly grow a spine and decide to eat one and I don't want him getting in any trouble.

Seconded. A nice garlic sauce would go great on them.yunachin wrote:Collect them and make escargot.

Hey Dadof4
I'd keep them breeding for when you get another puffer (maybe that baby Mbu you've been dreaming about that's going to share your office

Hmmm....Assassin snails you say....*little research.....* Wow! Now to find a few of these lovely but deadly creatures in the US, their shell color would absolutely add to my tanks setup. Anyone see them in the pet trade in the US?

Re: Never thought I'd ask this....
I have a huge snail tank to begin with! I bought a few plants at the LFS and put them in a 30 gallon I had lying around. The plants died and the snails became prolific. I may take Chin's advice, a little butter and some garlic with fresh Parmesan, a good broiler......Crap, now I'm hungry.puffertt77 wrote:Hey Dadof4

Nah, I had a plant die off and had to buy a few more. I know better, but I was in the area, and I bought them from Petco. A few days later I have pests. I let them go because I thought he may eat them for a quick snack...I was mistaken.EliWhitney314 wrote: Did you get them from me Dadof4? Sorry if it was my water.
Hey I need to see some pictures of him.
I'll upload my camera tonight, work went nuts this past week and I haven't had time.
