My protein skimmer has been filling up about a half a cup today . The water coming from the sponge in the sump looks a bit cloudy . Had water test done and am.and nitrate o ph 8 kh 12 sg 1.023 temp 79

Nitrate 0? Really??? How long has the tank been set up? What is the ammonia & nitrite? You should have your own test kits.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Do you have an in sump protein skimmer? I ask because I had a hob protein skimmer that did that. It took a while for it to break in. Once it broke in the micro bubbles stopped. If it's coming from the protein skimmer put your hose into your sock and that should stop it.

Yes I have a in sump protein skimmer with the exhaust pipe that spills into the sump right over the sponge . I do not know what a sock is ? can you explain that to me ? My skimmer has been filling up about the whole cup for the last few days . and it at the spot where it say's water level . I also have 2 bags of chemipure in the sump as well . Thanks !

Forget about a sock, unless you feel like cleaning it every other day. PITA in my book. Sponges needs to be rinsed at least weekly, if not more.
