GSP tankmates?

Well, i was wondering, are there any kind of fish that would be ok to keep with my GSP? I know i could put another GSP with him, but are there any other ones? I've heard of ciclids being with them...

GSP's need high brackish to full marine once they are larger. If you decided to go full marine with your gsp then you can add other saltwater fish once you reach marine levels.
If you go high brackish you may look into mollies. They can go from freshwater to high brackish.

I should also mention that it could be hit or miss with other fish. They could either pick on your gsp or become lunch for your gsp.

My GSP Cuddles is at full marine and is getting along very nicely with a picasso trigger about half her size.

In general, GSPs are best kept alone. You can try, but be aware that things could change at any moment and that the roommate might become lunch. That being said, there definitely are exceptions.

I have found that since mine have been in marine they have not been as aggressive as they were in brackish. Granted they are with several other larger fish of equal aggressiveness that refuse to take their funny business if they decide to start something. That being said, as mentioned there are always different experiences with each fish and you may never know until you try. The best outlook to keep is prepare for the best and expect the worse. Always have a back up plan just in case something does not go as planned.

With a young GSP, the backup plan can be as simple as having a divider on hand and a LFS that will take returns. Of course, a bigger GSP might just bust right through the divider.
