Don't beat yourself up. It happens to all of us. You learn from your mistakes and you learn what to look for when a puffer is sick. Your doing everything that you can for her. That's the best thing you can do right now. I'm about to get offline but I'll check back first thing in the morning. Here's a hug for you and your little darlin before I go. :grouphug:

Good luck!!! Poor baby.

About their mouth being open all the time, yes, I think that's normal. My DPs have their mouths constantly open, and they slurp their bloodworms up with no problem, even if the worm is bent double, so I don't think that it would be a tooth problem. Also, I've never heard of anyone having tooth problems with their DPs. Someone, I think it was Nick, said that he only feeds his live blackworms, and he's never had tooth problems. I've never seen a dentistry thread on dwarfpuffers.com.

Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Hey, maybe live food would interest her a little? Or even if you tried frozen bloodworms, instead of dried. And have you tried soaking her food in garlic?

Nope, haven't tried that yet. I'm getting ready to go totally planted in my 55g, so after I do that, I will consider better food options.

Update: she's swimming around a bit more and resting on the bottom in between. I'll leave the air stone running tonight and cover the top (not with a towel, too many bad "siphoning" experiences, lol) so she doesn't escape. :) I put some food in and will wait until I go to bed to see if she eats them. I doubt it though, she's up top but seems to weak to actually eat them.
Thanks for all your help, I'll keep you updated.

Alive!!! :D

She's swimming around a bit but only if I make her. (As in, I moved the net in there around a bit to stir up some stuff so I could do a water change.) I have the net still in there and she likes to lay in it. I positioned it so she won't get stuck. :) At least she's still alive! I really doubt she would have made it until now if I hadn't done something. I just did an almost 50% water changed and will get the epsom salt now. No sign of pooping yet, but that could take a while. Thanks for all your help so far!

After the epsom salt you should notice some poohing. If she's in a white or clear contianer you may not be able to see it. Don't get discouraged and keep up the good work. :)
Don't forget to re-add the medication also.

I'm going to do the salt now (too much homework, aahh!!!) The package says, "Treatment may be repeated up to two times with 48 hours between treatments and a 25% water change. I did a water change today, so I guess I have to wait until tomorrow night to add the other half of the tablet, correct?

No, you need to add the med right after the water change. When you did the water change you basically took the medication out and it needs to be replaced. You need to treat for 3 consecutive days. You don't want to give the worms time to get immune to the meds.

Should I dose for 2.5 gallons? That was the changed amount. Or should I dose for 5 gallons?
