It happened!

Post by LilGreenPuffer »

Thumbelina ate from my fingers today! It took them a while to get used to the idea of eating off of a toothpick, but today she ate a bloodworm right out of my fingers! Then I probably made her mad again by doing a water change. Oh, well. It was so cool!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Congratulations! It's cool to develop that kind of trust relationship with a puffer. My GSP and Ceylon were eating from my fingers almost immediately, which pleased me to no end, but I've had to stop feeding the Ceylon that way because too often he misses the food and gets my finger instead - and it hurts now that he's grown so much larger.

Awesome! Wish my F8 was so trusting. He barely comes within 6 inches of the mussels that I have gripped with the 12" tweezers. I have to string them on fishing line and drop them to the bottom or he won't come close enough the eat any. But he's shy.
