New Monotrete suvattii!

I cant believe it!! This guy in my town is moving away for school so hes selling me his 5'' Monotrete suvattii for 40 bucks with the 29 gal tank, gravel and filters!! Cant pass this up! I cant wait for monday!!

Can I just make a small suggestion? I have 3 suvattii and I would suggest putting sand in your tank instead of gravel because mine like to bury themselves in the sand. I think they would feel very exposed if they weren't allowed to do that. If you absolutely can't get sand, then at least put some PVC pipe in there that your suvattii can hide in. But personally I like sand best because it allows them to bury themselves, which mine do and it makes it hard to see them sometimes they hide so well.
I'm sure you will be happy when you get your suvattii, I love mine!

I will use sand.. the guy who has had it for the last few years had it in gravel so I dont want to freak him out anymore then I have to with the move and dont want to loose all the bacteria. I was thinking of maybe a combo of both?? my other tank has almost as many empty snail shells as it does stones now and it looks really nice. Oh and im not sure what type of gravel hes using.. It mite be that super fine stuff.. I guess he has had a few puffers over the years and says hes had really good luck with them

All you have to do is take a nylon stocking and fill it with the gravel from the bottom and lay it on the sand. No bacteria lost then. He will adjust rather quickly to the sand, I wouldn't worry about freaking him out.

And then you can take the stocking out after a week or two.
