Let's lay off of puffertt77 now, guys. We've beaten him/her (?) with it over the head for long enough. He/she knows what he/she needs to do. If puffertt77 doesn't get the 1,400g constructed, then so be it upon him/her, but I think you're beating a dead horse here. 'Kay?
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

You need to take care of the puffer you already have then get a bigger tank, cycle it, buy all the equipment you need to house a giant sw puffer, then and only then "buy" the puffer. :D I would love to have a mbu but I live in an apartment and I don't have room for a 1000 gallon aquarium. :(

I have Elvis my stars and stripes puffer that I was told is a dog face, gotta love the lfs, after I went back to buy him I told them he was a stars and stripes.
Anyway my point is, he started in a 125, within a year he outgrew it. He's now in a 156, I was going to get a bigger tank "but" the tank I had broke and I needed a replacement right away. Sometimes things happen that is beyond your control. I'm still planning to go larger but I really really want to wait until we get a house so that I don't have to move a 300 gallon tank. :D However, my sump is large enough for one and I have enough lr, a large protein skimmer and all other equipment I need for that 300 gallon. I'm ready, I just need the house and the tank. :D

:D wow your so lucky to have got that far in your SW hobby, you must be so excited

Before thinking of getting a SW puffer I was contemplating getting a GSP for the 50g but only switched to thinking of SW puffers as I prefer them. If I do change my mind and get a puffer for the 50g I'll get one of the smaller SW species that grow to 4inches/6.5inches that require this size tank

It would be a good starting point and a good learning experience. If you decided sw is for you then you can always upgrade. :D

Guys & Girls, take it easy on puffertt, Ya going crazier then my friends fighting over a freakin piece of paper.
BTW it looks like a spotted sharp nose puffer.
Ya just need to calm down a lil on da puffers.
Concentrate on Naboo and Bollo's new tank and your mantis shrimp for now, then wait till you move into the new place and do everything and then get your other puffers.

Here's the problem. We have gone easy on him, but he doesn't take our advice. What's the only other way of trying to get it across to him? By putting it how we do.

relax spongey

pufferett77 - patience is a virtue. like edmlfc1 pretty much said, moving large tanks is not something you want to be doing. Relax, on the puffer collecting. Appreciate and nurture the ones you have. Make sure they are happy and have plenty of room and being the planning/building the mega tank for Naboo. He's gonna need it.

What you don't want to happen is to go out and get all these wonderful puffers and put them in the minium size tanks at the time and find them all grown up and sandwiched between two panes of glass. Then you'd have to rush and set up large tanks without adequate cycling and preparation. Trust me, you want to get the drilled tanks for the overflow and the largest sumps that you can fit under the tanks. No, there will never be a puffer that looks exactly like the one you just saw (unless it was returned), but there will be one just like it. And we all know that success is much sweeter when you've had to wait and plan for months but the result is nearly flawless.

I remember being young & wanting every fish I liked all at once. Now I'm old, in a house with 9 tanks. It was worth the wait.
