i have seen a young pair of riticulus rays think these will be compatable with cutiepie?? she wouldnt bother them shes 9" im thinking could the rays hurt her??

I have never tried it but I have heard its a bad idea. Puffers do like to look in the sand for molusks,and some mbu have been known to nip at bottom dwellers.Either of these things could cause a ray to strike back in a fatal responce.My mbus like to rest on the sand for the night ,what if a ray was already laying in there favorite spot ?What might happen?Is it a risk your willing to take with cutiepie?

i know 110% cutie pie wont hurt the ray and most rays are always very docile. usually rays will mount each other as a sighn off domance and never stng then so im sure if cutiepie simply rested on one they would move out of the way

I went over to monster fishkeepers .com and read an old thread on mbu and rays as tankmates.Several people had tried it and all either seperated them or ended up with an eyeless or chewed on ray, or a dead mbu.One guy even tried it with 3 different mbu before giving up.......I gotta believe separate tanks is the way to go.Besides the rays would like their water much softer than the mbu.

that being aid usually rays are kept wth plecs rtc's and many other bottom dwellers that can be feisty with no reported issues. whats the general feel anyone ever kept puffer + ray together with no issues as it would make a great display

I have that combo, but only had them together for a couple of months. The Ray has gotten a few nips (no flesh removed) he is a bit of a pest.

well there only reticulus which grow 12" they are 4" at the min cutie pie is much much bigger so no problems with them eating her

My is a Cortez Ray gets to about 12" to 16".

and... these two rays have lived with a mbu from birth with its parents (6 months) shouldnt be a issue if i see one ounce of agression on either part ill split / rehome the rays
