I believe snopes said that the crab on the trashcan picture was a fake, but the crabs can get to be that large.

My Puffers: 1 GSP (Microfiche) RIP, 1 Monotrete Turgidus (Leon) in a 30gal. 1 Monotrete suvattii in a 40 gal FW. 120 gallon BW with 3 juvenile Dragon Gobies (so cool). 55 gal with a 2" GSP named Hank. 180 gallon being set up for a Fahaka in the next few months!

Actually, they didn't. It is a Coconut Crab. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/coconutcrab.asp Either way, I'd sure hate to meet one, looks too spider like to me.
"Darwin swings...annnnnnd a miss. Boy Jim, Chuck's suffered at the plate tonight. He's 0 for 3 and I'm not sure he's recovered from that shoulder pull a few weeks ago. I'll bet the front office is re-thinking that contract."

Wow that's a big crab! I think they are pretty much saying that the photo cannot be disproved and this type of crab does get that big so it's very possible that it's a true photograph. I'd hate to tangle with that guy for sure!

it looks fake but it is still amazing to think that they are out there. Just think about wakeing up to that sitting in front of your face.

I scream and run in the other direction when I see one. Not proud of that fact, but I am proud of the speed with which I flee and the pitch I hit as I scream! I've made bats go, "What the hell did he just say?" as I ran by! :shock:
