I Just Got My First One!!!! (Dwarf Puffer)

This is my first puffer ever! Well I sould say my first puffers because I have 3. Im so happy/excited :D ! They are so tiny I cant beleave it. They are about this size :grouphug: I can barely see them in there, they are just swimming at the bottom in the plants/rocks.
I put them in my 20 gal FW tank with my danios and mollies, and it didnt go to well. All the fish started picking on the puffers and chasing them around, so I moved all the other fish out (sry puffers more important :wink: ) Now I am wondering what fish I could put in there that would not bother the puffers?
Also, what do i feed them they are so small. I am thinking some small snails(and maybe shrimp) and freeze dried bloodworms, is this ok?

Put them with ottos and/or bumble bee gobys.
Feed blood worms,snails,black worms,etc.

some are.some aint mine was brackish but now is fresh.

I have otocinclus and ghost shrimp with mine, the oto's eat all the algea and the gohst shrimp clean up all the left-overs. I feed them baby pond snails, frozen bloodworms, and live blackworms.

But dont they do best in brackish?

What about tetras, or something that wouldnt just sit at bottom?

BBG's are brackish. Tetras will probably do ok, they are fast enough to swim away from little nips, but they will compete for food with the puffers, just make sure they come out and get a worm or two....

I was more worried about the fish harassing the puffers, Im kinda doubting the tetras now though because I put my white coud minnow in there and It also chased the puffers around. So, maybe I sould just wait till the puffers get bigger to put others with them?

Yeah, Let your puffers grow a little...it will not take long with DP's. I never had any real problems with my tetras. Once in a long time I would get a nipped fin, but otherwise, they were fine. Oh, congratulations btw....

mine seem to be pretty grown in 3 months. :)

They are finicky little things. I use frozen bloodworms soaked in vitamins.. and they WILL NOT touch the worms unless they're on floating... mine definitely prefer live food and they will not touch shrimp. at all.

They're so darling. You will LOVE them!

Mine got full sized in less than 3 months too...probably only 2....they are awesome...

Thats good to hear.

They are so cute! I just want to Squeeze um, opps I mean Look at um, promise :)

They are biting at the snails I put in there (kinda sad, I think ive got attached to the snails and now they are suffering a crule death, the puffers have bit their antennas off :? ill get over it). But the puffers are scared of the shrimp lol.
