72 Gal, 20 gal sump ideas
Hey everyone!
I'm getting a new 72 gallon bow front for Christmas, and I'm going to add a 20gal live sump, and was hoping for some suggestions. I have 2 ~1" GSP's that are currently in a 65 gallon hex that are moving into this tank. On another post I talked about adding a maroon clown once they were full salt. Anyone else have any suggestions? I don't want anything that could become food for my puffs, just maybe one other occupant to finish the tank off. right now I'm leaning towards just giving my two gsp's a mansion! If you could add something, what would you add?
Thanks guys.

I purchased two GSPs in Feb at about 1" and 1.5" and set up a 55G for them. They are now 3" and 4.5" and are very aggressive at feeding time. That and the ever increasing bioload have convinced me that thse guys will never have any tank mates unless they are moved to a much larger tank (>100G).

Is that everyone's general consensus? To give the two GSP's the whole 72? I'm going to try to do an amazing fake reef, trying to make it as realistic as possible, using my real reef as a guide. So, any other suggestions as to anything I could/should add? Just looking for ideas...I'm still thinking a puffy mansion would be awesome...lol maybe I'll put some naked girl puffers in there and make a grotto for piglet and porky...haha (playboy reference for those who just think I'm gross) :40:
and I guess 35 gals (well with sump 45gals) each isn't actually much more than recommended...

hmm someone like hef there lisalisa? :12:
hehe well id think that in your 72 that two gsps would be great. then when its FULL SW you can add damsels and LR and a few very hardy corals and maybe even a pair of clown fish depending on your GSPs tempers.
good luck with that.
BTW i have kept GSPs in a semi reef environment. they just don't do well with non shelled inverts. hermit crabs and snails are fine as their shells are way too hard to get into. and GSPs leave most corals alone.

Exposing the conspecifics to the new tank first will give them the advantage of knowing the turf more then the GSPs will.
