Do GSP's need light?
As in, do they need it for health or coloration? I can't get a new light for my tank for about four weeks.

Re: Do GSP's need light?
Honestly, Shakespeare seems to prefer the dark. Always white bellied in the dark, but when his bright tank lights are on(for macroalgae and coraline algae growth) for 8 hours a day, he makes his entire body dark, perhaps to blend in with the rock?
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

Re: Do GSP's need light?
I have one tank that I only let the natural light of the house/windows shine on. Everyone is healthy and happy and they don't seem to mind. Cuts back on electric bills too.

But mine does well with a CFL. I think it's another puffer preference thing...

As long as there is light in the room & they aren't in total darkness, they should be ok. All animals need a regular day/night schedule.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
