Fahaka and crayfish?

Hi! I'm going to breed crayfish in a 54L tank, i think the crays name is Cambarellus patzuarensis sp. How good is this crayfish for my fahaka?

Here in Sweden we have only one species of crayfish and that is Pacifastacus leniusculus, i wonder if its a bad ide to buy living wild caught crayfish in the store and feed the fahaka?

If your gonna buy live crayfish to feed, would be a good idea to quarantine first. I think any crayfish is good for any puffer. I tried feeding a live one to my F8's and one thing I will is that if your gonna feed live might be a good idea to get rid of their claws so they don't injure your fish.

I always put the live crayfish in WITH the claws. My Fahaka has learned how to get to the juicy part of the crayfish without getting hurt. Just looking at his moves and tactics are great Only once a crayfish managed to grab my fahaka. My fahaka is about 6-7cm and the crayfish I feed are 3-4cm.

I have fed some pretty big crays to my Shakespeare, the claws did not seem to be a threat - if they were extended offensively, the pointy bits on the end just became food first. I'm sure they could cause some eye injury if the puffer was small enough to get pinched on the face, but other than that, their skin is SO supple, slimy and tough that I don't see much threat other than a torn fin. After the first couple I prekilled the crays because I had one as a childhood pet and felt bad for them... the "face/brain" area was the LAST place my puffers bothered with - the poor things were totally delimbed and tail-less before they were killed. Now I have a snail farm again and don't have to feed crays to wear their beak.
