milk-spotted puffer

i recently got a milk spotted puffer as some of you probably have already read, i just wanted some basic info on these guys, what size tank will he eventually need? what salinity should i have the water at? what type of plants and rocks? and possible tank mates? can i keep him with his own species?, i'd prefer to keep him in brackish than full marine for cost purposes, i just cant seem to find much info on the net for him

100 gallons, they grow to 15"

what salinity should i have the water at?

If you have him in freshwater right now you can slowly increase the sg by .002 each week without killing
the bacteria you have. I'm not sure of the perfect sg for this guy but I would aim for around 1.010.

what type of plants and rocks?

Plants will not survive in higher backish waters.
You can use what's called base rock, holey rock, or river rocks. It's what ever look you pefer.
With brackish I would either get base rock or coral skeleton.

More than likely no tankmates. I've heard they can be extremely aggressive. No you cannot get them
with their own kind.

The initial cost of marine is the worst. My suggest is start watching craigs list, garage sales, ebay, etc. Pick up things
here and there and once you have everything you need then move into marine. Most of my lr came from
members of another forum breaking down tanks. Not to say you have to go full marine.

I had bought a pair of them back in the day and ended up giving them away a few months later after deciding I wasn't at a point in my life where I could have a 100g+ tank. They got along well, but were still very juvenile (so who knows if they wouldn't have got along when they got bigger) and I had bought them from the same tank at a shop.
