What is a good FW puffer for me?

I am setting up my 100 gal tank when we move for my 2 GSP, then I will have a free 40 gallon FW tank, and would like a freshwater puffer for it. I am not familiar with any other puffer than the GSP, so im interested what might be a good one for me, im looking for one thats easy to get (not too expensive with shipping) and easier to care for, but has a ton of personality!

Hmmm.. maybe a modestus, they show up in stores, are freshwater, very active and gorgeous fish. They do often need their teeth trimmed, like SAP's do. Pretty aggressive, you wouldn't want to try keeping anything with it though.

Er, do you mean dwarf puffers? There's no way to sex SAP's.

Silus and modestus are very similar to each other, same requirements pretty much.

You could also consider the variety of lurker species, if you would be interested in a less active, predatory type of puffer.

Yeah there is, my lfs has males and females, The males have yellow and black stripes on their backs and the females backs are black with a sort of spotted pattern on their backs

They were defenatly the same puffers in the tank, I was originally going to get 2 females for my Male Bollo but decided it would be to much for my tank

The puffers were defenatly the same puffers, they looked exactly the same except for the colours/markings on their backs
