Gotta let him settle in for a while. I got him in there and every sign of stress a puffer can show, did, real dark, tail curled, heavy breathing, glass pacing, etc. I think he just needs a little puffer Valium. When I leave the room he relaxes in a corner ad brightens up. Once he chills for a while I'll get pictures up, also the tank is a little spartan right now. I found out that this guy has been purchased and returned three other time from their other store so all the moving hasn't made him comfortable. I have to wait until next paycheck until I can really do it up right, all he had right now a re a few flower pots for caves. I'm considering doing terraced granite structure to the back of it with swim through caves.

Poor little fellow. You just go over there right now and tell him that he's not going back to the lfs.
This is his home now and he has a family that loves him.
The way I got Elvis: He was brought to the lfs while his daddy moved. Over a month later his daddy decided he wanted a reef tank and decided not to come back for Elvis. When I went in they told me that they couldn't think of anyone that would love Elvis as much as I did. So I asked Elvis if he wanted to come home with me. He got so excited! I picked him up the next day. :D

This is the little guy I posted in late January trying to ID. My LFS had no idea what they had or how to care for him so they called me to come get him. Talking with one of the young people that work there I found out that he was purchased 3 separate times and each time returned with in 48 hours because he killed entire tanks of tropical's. He even ate a most of a 4 inch pleco they stuck in the tank with him.

So, I'll do the best I can with what I got. Gave him some cover, dumped in a few of my ghost shrimp for playmates, and dimmed the lights.

That's so exciting!!!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

:D They should have done their research! Never ever ever put a puffer in a tank with other fish you like. 8) I learned that before I ever saw a puffer in person. Duh!
I'm glad he's in good hands now. He deserves a loving home. :D Can't wait to see those pictures.

Btw: I just found out a few weeks ago: The guy that had Elvis had him in a 55 gallon for 9 months! I was horrified! My Elvis is probally stunted for life. I don't care, I still love him. :D He's better off with me anyway.

Good news! He ate and dear God is he vicious! He is also venturing out of his cave and his color is returning. I definitely need to treat for IP's though, his belly was funky shaped when he ate. Pictures coming Monday night.

Things I learned tonight.
1) Never sniff a bottle of Garlic Extreme no matter how badly you want to.
2) Never spill it on your wife's good comforter.
3) Do not try to clean up spilled Garlic Extreme and then reach in to a puffer's tank, no matter how well you washed your hands......
