DP's eating or not

ok i have a quick question about feeding my DP's. i've read the articles in the library, and i noticed yesterday after putting a few live snails in their tank they all had little bulges in the stomachs (i'm assuming this means they ate) but its gone today. could they have digested their food that fast? and if so should i put some more in or wait until tomorrow like i read i should. also i noticed there's one snail that my male keeps attacking, but i can't tell if he's actaully getting anything from it. he'll focus in on it for a second to two, take a bit, and then back up, huff and puff a little, and then swim off. does that mean he actaully got some food, or just can't get through its shell. they're all just common pond snails of varying sizes (the largest is more bigger than the biggest puffer). is this normal, or should i be concerned they're not eating enough?

You can probably safely assume that they ate the snails, because of the bulging bellies. It normally takes around a day for their stomachs to go back down to where they were before they ate. They should eat every day, and if it's possible to give them snails every day, do so - as this will lessen the likelihood that their teeth will need trimming. You want them to get nice, full, round bellies, but not so full they look like they just ate a marble.

As for your DP that can't seem to devour that snail, that's perfectly normal, it's probably just too big for him.

my dp's absolutely LOVE bloodworms.

If you'd like to get adventurous in feeding, throw some of those little buggers in there. They will go nuts over them!
