New Puffer
I have a Tetraodon palembangensis and just wondered what would be the best foods to give Him ?

Ok so why did i not read this forum better before i brought my Puffer if i had read EMERGENCY: How to Quickly Cycle a New Tank i might have been able to save my new Puffer, now i just feel like a murderer 
I had set up a new tank just so i could get a larger Puffer, but i made the mistake of using all new equipment, new Tank, new filter, new substrate. I have had the tank up and running for 4 weeks with no fish in it at all and thought that this would be long enough for the Tank to cycle. So making a rookie mistake i used a 6 in one test strip to check the water before i went to my LFS, happily collected a nice new puffer and took him home, only to find him in distress in the morning. So called the LFS and they sugested that i bring him and a sample of water back to the store and that they would return him to the tank he had come out of as it was still empty and they would test my water sample.
The water sample showed very high Ammonia levels and have since phoned to say that he did not make it
I called in after work today and they gave me some used filter media from one of there tanks and asked me to let that take hold in the filter and return in a couple of weeks with a water sample to test and they will make sure all is well before i take home my next Puffer. I must say that they did all that they could to help me, but i feel stupid for not using a good test kit myself, so its the first thing on my shopping list come pay day.

Make sure you're feeding that filter media once it's in your tank if you're not going to put fish in right away. Read the fishless cycling article in the puffer Library to learn how to keep the good bacteria in that media alive.
