Does anyone have a fugu puffer?

Post by busybones »

So my LFS said that they could get me a fugu puffer (it's kinda hard to get any puffers in KY) so I have a fully cycled tank set up and wouldn't mind another puffer. Can anyone give me some info on the Fugu puffer? couldn't find it in the puffer pedia...anyone have some photos too???? Thanks soooo much!

Fugus are SW fish.

Where in KY do you live? My LFS will order you just about anything.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Mount Sterling, I could travel if needed. I have a hard time getting the Pet shops to get anything other than sick GSP's and the things They say they can get are often mis-labeled. I called earlier today and asked what she could get in this week and she said a mekong river puffer....yeah I dunno. she said her supplier told her that it looked kinda like a GSP uuuuuggggg! I go to Lexington often and have checked at Incredipet, the animal house, and pet smart and none of them carry puffers at all. Please help! lol

Look for "Takifugu Ocellatus" in the marine section of the pufferpedia.
They need colder water, 55Gal, and preferrably not see a lot of traffic outside the tank because they get stressed out and go crazy easily. They are smart and funny little things though. I'm in love with mine.
