Need to find my plucko a home!

Post by lazeeyemt »

Hi everybody, I have a 10 inch plucko that needs a home. I've had this guy for 8 or so years and basically he has overgrown my tank as well as all the new fish mates he has. I was wondering what I can do to find him a good home, and where are some good places to start looking for this "home". Also, I'm currently in San Jose CA if anyone in the nearby bay area is interested.

greenspottedpuffer.net arranges adoptions with approved owners. They deal with all sorts of puffers, not just GSPs. Idk how reliable they are; they've only just started, but they sound good. They interview prospective owners before agreeing to let them have a fish.

Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Oh, never mind. They only work with 6in and under.

Do you mean a pleco? As in plecostomus? If it is a common plec, then I'd see if the lfs will take him/her. Even if they don't give you any money or store credit, it's still a good deal since common plecs are so, well, common. Nobody wants them once the get big since few people have large enough tanks to house them. If it it a more rare pleco like a Royal Pleco or something where there is a demand, you could try posting in the classifieds on http://www.plecofanatics.com or a similar website.

If nothing else, you could try Craigs List, but keep in mind that most people will not realize how much space a large pleco needs.

I have a pair that are about 11" each and I cannot re-home them...My LFS really isn't interested in them at all.
