how long should i wait before placing my gsp in?

I recently switched from gravel to sand after cleaning my tank. It's been about 8 hours and the tank still remains very cloudy. Is it safe for me to place my GSP back in the tank while the water is still cloudy or shall i keep them out until it clears up?

when i changed from gravel to sand y removed all the gravel did a 40% water change and rinsed the sand and then i added it to the aquarium 20 min later i have the same puffer and i havent had any problem with the sand its been a month now

Keep an eye on thre parameters & do WC accordingly. You may get a mini cycle in there. Why'd you change to sand? How deep is it? To clear up the water, add filter floss to the filter & change when it cloggs.

I need to run to the store and buy myself another parameters meter, limited budget sucks =/ Why did I switch to sand? To be honest there was no justifiable reason besides me walking around at my local fish store, spotting the sand, and saying to myself that would be an awesome new look! I didn't think much about it until I was filling the tank up with water and noticing that the sand was going to create a dust storm in my tank, that was when I realized that maybe sand was a horrible idea. The sand isn't too deep, I would say about 3 quarters of an inch deep in my 30 gallon hexagonal tank. Maybe it's a little too much but like I said in my hospital post earlier, I didn't do my research . So what exactly is filter floss? Also is this a universal product that I can simply plug into my topfin30 filter? And is there any other things I can do to rapidly clear up the tank as well as maintain the sand from clouding up the tank?

I really don't like filters I can't pack myself with stuff I like to use. I buy filter floss at the sewing supply store--it's sold for stuffing pillows or quilting material.
