Is there a specific kind of marine salt to use for brackish or marine aquariums?
Or does any kind work?

Just make sure it's sea salt or marine salt, NOT aquarium salt. There is a difference.
There are several brands available. I use instant ocean, that's my preference. :D

Yes, it must be marine salt intended for making water for saltwater tanks.

BTW, nearly every question you are asking is answered in our Library.. you might want to check it out ;)
