Great! I would wait and see, no sense putting it in your tank if you don't need to.
if you do end up using it, I would pre-measure it out, then squirt it on the algae with a turkey baster...

Re: Thinking about adding a few otos to DP tank
YAYY Cyano is gone! Just gotta do a WC tomorrow (gotta go to the Dr's this afternoon girlchild might have strep throat...melafix and pimafix and water changes aren't working for her) to get rid of the gunk, and Hoover the Golden Apple snail can take care of the rest.

This Jan's CTB I'm gonna get some stuff for the GSP tank, (and the GSP) so the DP's are gonna have to wait till Feb for me to plant their tank again. So they have to deal with the tacky pink stuff. lol
Yeah there's a retrofitting kit at my LFS, I think the Mr can install it pretty darned easily in my hood. I figure if he can fix and replace the electronics on multimillion dollar aircraft, he can retrofit lighting in an aquarium hood

3 MORE puffers? I wouldn't, personally. I'd rather opt for some helpers (like the otos, maybe a large shrimp and some cherry shrimp) than more DPs. It's much easier to maintain a tank with a low bioload than a high one. You could add in a female, though.

You won't have a LOT of cherry shrimp, but you might have some.
Try keeping huge clumps of java moss with chunks of coral rock (the white rock stuff) underneath it. That's probably your best bet for having lots of shrimp.

And driftwood for them to wiggle into/under, mine always liked to gather in their little cave system that the puffers couldn't follow them into.

Here's a great site that tells you about all the different kind of algea's and how to get rid of them. Hope this helps.
