I have 2 gsps and just got them an 80g tank. I absolutely love eels, and was wondering if the puffers would get along with an eel. I am considering adding a snowflake or zebra moray once I reach full saltwater.
So, what's the real story here? Will they get along? Will the eel try to eat the puffer, or vice versa?

20 gal planted freshwater- dwarf puffers, south american puffer, ghost shrimps
10 gal planted freshwater-female crowntail bettas, L-187b Thomasi pleco, trilineatus cories
10 gal freshwater divided-crowntail betta, male and female halfmoon dragon bettas
5 gal freshwater-red cherry shrimps

I have a snowflake eel in my tank (156g) with my gsp and stars & stripes puffer. I only see the eel when she's hungry. I feed her bites of shrimp and never had an agression problem. Although once she bit my s&s puffer on the lip while going after the same mussel. The puffer won! 
I use tongs to feed her but that day I was too slow. I don't think I would do a moray eel, I hear they are more agressive.

When I think of moray eel I think of: Gymnomuraena zebra & Muraena lentiginosa both aggressive.
Snowflake eel (Echidna nebulosa) semi- aggressive. But yes you are right it is moray.

Snowflakes are the easiest to find around here, so I'd probably get one of those if I do end up getting one.

I have a snowflake eel in with bonzo, it's really funny watching them go after the same muscle

I would not recommend morays as tank mates for GS puffers.
The Zebra moray (G. zebra) having only plate like teeth may be an exception.
They are in fact very peaceful.
Snowflake morays may work well when young, but once they reach sexual maturity and may change into males, they develop long frontal teeth with slightly serrated edges ideal for catching and tearing apart fish. They also reach 2.5 ft. Nothing I'd recommend as GSP tank mates, while it may work depending on its gender and personality I would be willing to take the risk.

Once again I had heard different about the snowflakes, and read different, but I suppose it all comes down to the experiences that the individual giving the advice has had with them.
I will keep a close eye on them, and if there are any signs of violence, the eel will be re-homed.

I have done eels with puffers before and it has been disastrous. It's something I would never want to try again.
