It looks like everyone else is giving you great advice. I hope your puffers will be okay, it's always sad to hear about GSPs being sold as freshwater fish

thanks everybody and sorry for the bad pictures. Both of them seem to be doing well now. I'll be getting them a permanent tank in the next couple of weeks. I've sent several e-mails to classified ad holders, all were 55gal or more. I haven't added any chemicals or additives to the tank... Ok so just to clarify about their situation... these guys are in a stable cycled tank. I moved the other fishies out in order to keep these two guys alive. When I move them to a new un-cycled tank, that will be their larger permanent home. We're just glad they're still alive... and I'll work on some better pics.

zombiefetus, i noticed on your site "Nearly all Green Spotted Puffers are carrying Internal Parasites and need to be treated immediately upon receiving them." How should i do this?
***edit*** to answer this question for anyone curious ill c&p from zombiefetus's site... "There are several ways to treat a puffer for I.P.'s. If your puffer will eat pelleted food I'd recommend Jungle's Anti-parasite Medicated Fish Food. If you're puffer won't accept the food try soaking it in garlic and letting it soften. This is the most (and sometimes easiest way) to treat your puffer for I.P.'s.
If you're puffer won't accept the pelleted food, the next thing I would suggest trying is Jungle's Parasite Clear, or Fish Zole's Metronidazole. This method requires frequent 100% water changes. Since Puffers are a scaleless fish any medications added to the water can be harmful. Frequent water changes and following the directions exactly will prevent any unneeded damage to your puffer." theres more if ur interested.

another question.... when topping the tank off (from water evaporating) should i use something like distilled water? i assume you shouldnt pour tap water in there.

Your puffer does not look like it has IPs to me. I'm not sure why when treating them for IPs you need "frequent, 100% WC". When you move them to the larger tank, just move all their substrate, decor & filtration to that tank & it won't be uncycled, since you'll bringing over all their biological support.

Yes you're right you can't just pour tap water in the tank, what you need is some de-chlorinator, such as 'Prime' to add to your tap water so it is safe to use in the tank.
