Stars Teeth Missing!

Hmm, the other day i notices my stars and stripes seemed to have have lost a bottom tooth and had a black mark on its tongue, Now it is also missing its other bottom tooth! is there any reason for this or is it just he's bitten something too hard? Should i be worried (he is still able to devour prawns)

Don't know why he would be missing his teeth unless he tried to take a bite out of some lr. Elvis goes around and takes chunks out of my rock. But yes he can still eat, just keep an eye out for redness that may lead to infection. They had a dog face puffer at the lfs not long ago that had no teeth. They would break off pieces of shrimp to feed him.

Frank has broken off teeth, but they grow back.. he's never broken one off or lost it at the gumline though.

I really don't know what to tell you other than to watch for infection, crooked growth of the new tooth (if it grows back) and make sure he seems to be getting enough to eat?

thanks for the replies, he does seem to be eating ok, still has a black mark on his tongue. not sure how low it broke off but they are not visible at the bottom when he rubs on the glass anymore!

Ensure you are feeding enough vitamins.
A lack of vitamins can provoke the loss of teeth at fish, too, not unlike human scurvy, although it may be related to other vitamins.
