When I move into my new place, I would like to buy a Marine Puffer. I don't move in for a couple months, but I wanted to have an idea of what would be required. I have had freshwater puffers but never marine.
What type of Marine Puffer would be best for an amateur marine keeper? Also if you include with your suggest, a little about how they like their aquarium set up that would be great.
Happy Holidays,
Chase

There is an excellent article on marine puffers stickied in this forum.
Here's a good one too: http://microcosmaqx.typepad.com/mike_ma ... ufferfish/
Also, look over the profiles in our Pufferpedia (under the Learn tab, above). What FW puffers have you kept?

Re: Best Marine Puffer
I have only had Dwarf Puffers, so I don't know if I'm totally ready for bigger puffer or a marine puffer for that matter.
But I'm committed and willing to wait if experiened puffers keepers suggest I do so.
As of right now I'm just researching, my favorite marine puffers are the Crowned puffer, Bennett's Sharpnose Puffer, and Spotted Sharpnose. As they all require no more than 30 gallons.

Re: Best Marine Puffer
I have read enough not to over estimate my ability to care for a larger puffer (I love researching
). Would you say that these puffers are good for an amateur?

Re: Best Marine Puffer
nice to see someone whol likes reseacrhing, rather than coming on the forum going...
'i got this really cute puffer, what is it... how big does it get!?'
Let us know how it's all going, maybe start a set up thread and document how the tank is set up etc.. would be nice to read.
