Anyone have any info on the fugu puffer? and the availability of them in the uk?

Unfortunately most of these fish are coming in and being stored in fresh water due to the lack of knowledge of the fish stores. These are a full marine fish and will require 1.019-1.022 salinity. I do not recommend a slow rise of salinity as the longer they remain in fresh water, the more detrimental it is to their long term health. You can acclimate them slowly over the course of a day up to the desired levels that I listed.
Another thing is if you have two at that size they need a tank of 75 gallons minimum and should not be housed with any other fish due to their erratic and aggressive nature. They are sub-tropical and require a tank temperature maximum of 68 degrees F. Due to your location that could mean you have to invest in a chiller to maintain the temperature. Fluctuations in temperature can put a great deal of stress on these fish even with a few degrees.
You want a tank with a good sand substrate for burying and tight lid to prevent jumping. Minimum decor is something I have used because like mentioned above, they do become very erratic and can injure themselves when slamming into decorations or tank walls.
