What kind of snails for my GSP?

I just got a GSP from Wal-Mart and I was wondering what kind of snails i should get him? He is slowly being acclimated to a brackish environment and i am worried that if i buy little snails to put in there they will die because of the salt content and my little guy won’t be interested in them. Any suggestions?

If the tank is anything but a very low brackish, pond or ramshorns will probably die. The trick I use is to make sure my puffers see the food going in - when that happens, the snails never hit the ground, nevermind have a chance to die from salt.

I breed pond snails for my puffers, although ramshorns are good too - you just have to do like Nick says and try to make sure he sees the snail go into the tank. But then you could end up with a stinker GSP like mine who pretends she doesn't see the snails drop in and keeps looking up at the surface of the water because she would rather daddy feed her some scallop or shrimp out of his fingers. Of course when I walk away and am out of the room, she zooms down to where I dropped the snail and starts looking for it.
