Re: Shell on shrimp UK
I can always find shell on prawns in sainsburies on the fresh fish deli counter. But you often need to go earlier in the day as they sell out quick. They also sell live, shell on mussles which are great for wearing down teeth. My puffers will take a nibble at the shell while they are trying to get to the meat inside. Again, you have to get there early cos they sell out.

Re: Shell on shrimp UK
Your LFS should at least have frozen shrimps in their freezer section, if they don't then I'm sure that they could order some in for you.
My LFS keeps them right next to the frozen mice..... yuk!

any supermarket with a frozen food section of fish counter will sell something for you. Shell on prawns, Crevettes etc

Re: Shell on shrimp UK
Thanks for the great advice guys. I'll try Sainsbury's tomorrow morning. I have been to a few supermarkets and they do have shell-on shellfish but always with some kind of seasoning which is obviously not appropriate.
Can I just dunk normal mussels in there? I didn't realise Fig-8's could get into them. I don't eat seafood myself so I don't really know what I'm asking for which makes this far more difficult
I wish he'd just eat pondsnails - plenty of those around here!

You can use mussels but you might want to take a pair of pliers and crack the shell open for him first. Prawns are basically a bigger shrimp.
Frozen "people" shrimp, raw, no seasonings is a staple around here, there's always a bag in the freezer and I buy it when I see it on sale. Paris will eat little else, although she does eat earthworms and loves snails (I've just been having a heck of a time breeding them lately though).

He should be fine but I wouldn't feed him for a couple days. Need to let him digest what he has. You just don't want to feed him like that all the time or else it will make him sick.
My red lines absolutely love clams and when I put them in there I have to watch them close cause one eats so fast that I can't get it away before he gorges himself. Then I don't feed for two days and they are back to normal.
