Confused

Post by raliugaluis »

I was browsing this site and now I'm confused if my puffer is a spotted puffer or a green puffer, [url]http://puffernet.tripod.com/confusion.html , and the pictures in the pufferlist.com page are different. How can I know which one is correct?

The Pufferlist.com is accurate to the best knowledge of the moderators on this site. We recommend reference to pufferlist.com - as one of our own moderators is responsible for its creation and maintenance.

It is quite likely you have a Green Spotted Puffer - these are very abundant in the fish trade.

First off, the spotted congo puffer is quite rare, and I highly doubt you have one. Also, puffernet is quite outdated anyway, so i'd exclude that as a source. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the pictures on pufferlist, but I'd hazard a guess that if it looks like either a green spotted puffer or a spotted congo puffer, it's a green spotted..Tetraodon nigroviridis. If it is indeed a Green spotted, this article is an awesome source: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/cav1i1/gr ... uppies.htm I hope you don't mind me siting this pufferpunk!! It's just so good...
