Shermy is starting to get board of his decoration so i deiced to start bringing a bit of natural sea decors into a section of the tank.
I was in Jeffery's Bay a few weeks ago and walking on the beach i found some lovely pieces of coral washed up on the beach.
When i got back to cape town i put the lot out in the sun for a week to ensure properly dried out, then put the lot in my steamer for an hour (to kill any bacteria).
i feel it best to always ask silly questions than to end up with a situation that could have been avoided so my question is should i steam it all a second time or pressure cook it to make extra sure that all bacteria is dead? and are there any other things that i should take into consideration when introducing dried coral/shells into the tank ?
Best Regards

I ran mine through the dishwasher about 4 times before adding it to my tank. But when I got mine it was already dried out.
I think it should be ok after drying it out, anything that was on there should have died after a week.
Wait for a second opion before adding it to the tank.

I am honored to have a reply from the beautiful/tech savvy yunachin
Think i will steam it all once more (just in case) before the big tank clean and redecoration this weekend.
All ill need now is to get a friend around with a nice camera so i can enter into the tank/puffer of the month comp (been wanting to do this for ages ... but never felt worthy)
