whats your fahakas favourite foods

mine dont really like dried krill or mussles and only eats prawns,so any more foods that are easy to get that he may like would be helpful .
oh yeah he loves snails but i to give him more than this.

Mine goes crazy over crab. She also eats shrimp, mussels and clams.

where would i get shrimps from, i live in england. do you buy them dead or breed them.

When I had my fahaka he loved live shrimp.
Most aquatics places sell them as 'river shrimp' and they cost 6p each. Its best to gut load them first, I used to feed them algea pellets and bloodworms and then feed them to the puffer.

He also loved crab... but that gets a bit expensive. He did eat a small crayfish once. Again expensive.

Fresh mussels were also a fave. Go into tesco or sainsburys to the fresh fish counter and get the mussles in the shell.

I buy mine either in the fresh seafood department or the freezer department at the local grocery store.

I get my from Asda's just prawms from the pre-packed fish section for £1.something....

Yeah most supermarkets should sell prawns or something similar. Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Waitrose, all the usuals. Maybe the co-op as well, depending on how big it is. Anyway you get the picture, basically, most supermarkets should sell it.

Mine has live shrimps, bloodworms and brine shrimps (all available from most lfs) but his main food is mussel - either the frozen food packs from lfs or the fresh packs from supermarkets (which I then freeze) - simply defrost and either feed whole or more usually cut into 3 bits and feed him until he doesn't want any more to avoid lumps of it needed to be removed from the tank. I have a 60l marine tank I keep shrimps in so that I can buy a bag load and keep them for a few weeks. I also have a snail breeding tank - mainly pond snails and ramshorns - he loves these! Lately I found my lfs started to stock frozen cockles in shells so now he has one of these twice a week - often he is too lazy to get into them though!

Obvously all frozen food that goes in is defrosted first. Some of the smaller things like brine shrimps he isn't always fussed about - but we buy them mainly for the dwarf puffer tank - they love them! He will go around over time and mop them up though. He is about a year old, roughly 7" and we are feeding 4 or 5 times a week.

Kaiser likes crawfish and gets about 6-12 every week to every other week. If he had it his way it would be everyday.

i know what you mean,big ale just wants to eat all the time.
i get prawns from tescos but just wanted some other things to get as i dont no if he can servive on just prawns and mussles.
