Where's Corvus when you need him? PM him to look at this thread.

6 inches? maybe a palembang? or a very large abei defnitely would not be a suvatti.

Re: What is Puffle???
It is without a doubt one of the target species, so let's keep our guesses in that direction.

Re: What is Puffle???
Please everyone also see the old thread on this specimen's ID (it has more pictures):
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=11870&p=122422#p122422
I believe it is a M. leiurus (less likely a M. cochinchinensis due to size, snout longer than 2 times eye diameter, coloration).
If it is not a M. leiurus (Am I wrong with the long snout from the pictures? You'll see it better with the fish in front of you), it is a M. cochinchinensis.
What it certainly is not is M. palembangensis, M. suvattii, M. cambodgiensis...

Re: What is Puffle???
Also compare your puffer to this one, which obviously would be classified as M. leiurus:

Re: What is Puffle???
I searched for the old thread and couldn't find it. I agree (again) with Corvus.
... Is there any chance of making a sticky to WWM (or a better site if you know one) to see more of the less common puffer species for identification?

Re: What is Puffle???
WWM's puffer section isn't nearly as great as ours. If the OP can get some good clear pics, we can add that puffer to our Pufferpedia.

Re: What is Puffle???
It looks a lot like Bubba with the eyespot and patch on the head, but Corvus is definately correct about the elongnated snout. And Bubba's eyespot is not really black, but more body colored. So its not a turgidus..
Bubba, for comparison (the eyespot doesn't really showup in this photo too well):
