Fahaka Puffers

has anyone heard of fahahka puffers going brackish, please let me know i was told ( by fish store) fahakas eventually go brackish and right now my 10/ 11 inch puffer seems good. salinity is at 1.004 do you think it will be ok

Have a look at the fahaka article in the pufferpedia. I believe they are strictly freshwater and dont do well in brackish. If I were you i would gradually move him back to freshwater

They come from the Nile River, in Africa. No salt there.

Brackish? Nope, fahakas are freshwater fish from a freshwater river.

Fresh Fresh Fresh! I had mine in Brackish for about 6 weeks. Came home from being away for 2 weeks. Started puffing, got puffed. I cleaned the tank and was running it around 1.0010-1.0012. (LFS said to run it around there) Then he scratched his eye (I Think) and got sick and was near dead! Took him out of the brackish 100% water change to Fresh added some Meds and now he's back to swimming around!
Poor FuGu has been threw hell and back! I'm following the puffer forum now =)

Was it 1.0010 or 1.010? The 1st one is really low--almost FW.

Take out a 0, 1.010-1.012. Sorry =)
