A hairband, he wouldn't chase my finger, or stay still for a photo!
Re: Please identify this..
Yes she is a reticulated owed by me. Her name is Star (because she always has to be front and center so she is the star of the tank) and although I still do own her she is in one of my clients tanks. Just got to big for mine so she is now in a 300gl and I still get to see her and give her treats evey weeks, but I had to be fair to her and move her to the larger tank.Myaj wrote:That's the species that was said above, reticulated. Marine, very large puffer.
The puffer in our logo image is owned by a member here actually.

Re: Please identify this..
what are you going to do with the puffer?
you clearly shouldn't keep it in the freshwater. if you can't keep it due to its salty requirements, i would bring it to a lfs and tell them what it is so they put it in sw.
i'm busy thinking of ways to remember what i was going to say
Re: Please identify this..
Sorry for the hijack
I'm gulity as charged.
Just checked out your picture and yes defiantly a baby reticulated their colors tends to go lighter as they get older. Full marine and a very large tank is needed.

Be sure to switch him to saltwater. he will be much happier in it.
Should a marine puffer thats been in freshwater be changed gradually?

I would drip him over totally over the course of some hours. Get up a little earlier than normal and spend the day doing it.

Re: Please identify this..
You really think it could handle that in one day? You'd have to add a small heater & airstone to the bucket & keep scooping out some water, so it didn't overflow.

I have done it in one day with the fugu. Not too much of a hassle if you pay attention to it.
