I think it's funny that someone would worry about the price of a puffer, instead of the thousands it will cost for set up & feeding that monster!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Big tanks in the uk are few and far between most have to be custom built which costs a absolute fortune. Im lucky enough to have a dad thats a carpeter and my uncle was a window fitter for 20+ years. even this said my 8x3 cost me about £800 and countless hours.Pufferpunk wrote:I think it's funny that someone would worry about the price of a puffer, instead of the thousands it will cost for set up & feeding that monster!
On another note. My 6x2 i had a eheim 2080 on it i decided to setup a 2229 aswell took me 3 hours :/ no self priming button. I lubricated all the o rings up good and propper then to have to get a mouth full of tank water. :/ im glad they last years and years. Next time ill buy a self priiming filter again for sure....... but the wet dry is amazing how it kicks in and you suddenly get jets of water...... even though it it loud! but who needs to hear the tv when you have a beautiful tank?

There are very few HUGE tanks in SoCal, I was lucky enough to see John's wonderful beast of a tank about a month ago. There are plenty of SoCal people with larger tanks, though. We have a good market here.flash.dan wrote: Big tanks in the uk are few and far between most have to be custom built which costs a absolute fortune.

I wonder what the yearly food bill is for a mbu?

probably not as much as youll imagine. bubba will eat about £10-15 or frozen shellfish, prawns mussels squid etc. I buy this whenever its on sale. Of course every 2 weeks ill buy him about 20 apple anails as a treat there probab;y £8 a go.
so probably £30-40 a month i would imagine actually over a year its almost quite a bit just to feed him hmmm.......
