Would different puffers be a better choice in a 50 gallon iwagumi tank than having dwarf puffers?

The trouble with iwagumi style tanks is that they are based on simplicity, whereas pufferfish really need a more complex environment to cut down on aggression and boredom. The only other freshwater puffers I could think of would be SAPs maybe, or an Mbu but obviously they are much more expensive and need a MUCH larger tank. But SAPs might be ok, depending on what other fish you have. I have heard they are usually quite good but not with slow fish, or they will nip their fins like any other puffer.
