I need an ID of this puffer. I'm been ploughing the PufferPedia, but seems like it doesn't look like anything in there.
I've placed the puffer in freshwater. The store owner told me this is a freshwater puffer, but she doesn't know what species it is either.
It totally reminds me of a reverse-GSP, haha. I have no idea what the ID would be on this one. You'll likely have to wait for a Mentor or one of our other puffer experts.
I see they already got to it, hehe!

i would at leats give him high end brackish water.
as i have heard all fish kept in freshwater have died after a few weeks, here in germany. those in marine water are still allive.

Lol hi, from singapore too. Did you get that patoca from Clementi Blk 328? I got mine there and have been keeping it in partial brackish for about 4 months now. The shop keeper told me that it is 100% FW but also couldn't identify the species. Yours looks 12123213 times better than mine when i first got him. Mine is real shy and that gives me lots of trouble feeding it. IMO the most boring puffer i ever owned.

where did you get those infos? how the fish get from estuaries to lakes?
i can only tell what the exporter from india told me who has caught them by himself and he said, that he found all of them in brackish water near to the seawater level.
ebert is keeping his fish in saltwater. and a friend of mine who is the importer of the named exporter told me that all of the fish kept in freshwater have died and that only those kept in brakish oder seawater are still allive.
